About

This webinar is for GPs and Primary Care HCPs and covers the importance of influenza vaccination in patients with cardiac disease.

Influenza infection is associated with a six-fold risk of developing a heart attack or stroke or dying from cardiovascular causes. Seasonal influenza immunisation may reduce a patient’s risk of cardiovascular death by up to 50%.

Drs Adam Nelson (Cardiologist) and Anita Munoz (GP and Medical Educator) will discuss the importance of influenza vaccination in this subpopulation particularly when in the midst of the flu season and with fewer than 50% of those under 65 years, with cardiac disease, typically not vaccinated against influenza.
