We are delighted to report the successful completion of the 8th Annual Immunisation Forum (AIF), held on June 14, 2024, at the Stamford Plaza Hotel in Brisbane. This year’s hybrid event saw over 100 delegates attending in person and more than 400 participants joining online.
The AIF provided a pivotal platform for healthcare professionals, including GPs, practice nurses, specialists, pharmacists, and other immunisation experts, to delve into critical immunisation topics. Our comprehensive program covered a wide array of subjects such as advancements in aged care, the development of new vaccines for the elderly, the role of adjuvanted vaccines, and strategies for managing vaccine hesitancy. Special focus was given to enhancing vaccination accessibility in primary care and pharmacy settings, targeting at-risk populations, and bridging the vaccine gap among First Nations peoples.
We sincerely thank the Chairman of the Immunisation Coalition’s Scientific Advisory Committee, Professor Robert Booy, who chaired this year’s forum. His expertise, together with the moderators of each session, was invaluable in steering the discussions that featured 13 infectious disease presentations and 4 panel discussions over 4 engaging sessions.
A special thanks to all the speakers who are willing to share their experience and expertise to other HCPs.
And finally, our gratitude goes to the sponsors for making this forum possible, and all the delegates whose contributions made the forum enlightening and informative. Your participation and support were crucial in making this event a success. We eagerly anticipate next year’s event, where we will continue striving for advancements in immunisation and public health.
