The Immunisation Coalition’s 2025 Free Flu Vaccination Day was a great success, with strong turnout across Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne.
We were honoured to have the support of civic and health leaders at each event. In Adelaide, we welcomed The Hon. Chris Picton MP (Minister for Health), Dr Jane Lomax-Smith AM (Lord Mayor), Dr Rod Pearce AM (IC Chairman), and Angela Newbound RN (Immunisation Education Consultant).
In Brisbane, Prof Paul Griffin (IC Director) was joined by Councillors Sandy Landers, Ryan Murphy, Danita Parry, and Emily Kim.
In Canberra, we were pleased to host Ms Fiona Carrick (Independent, Murrumbidgee), Ms Laura Nuttall (ACT Greens, Brindabella), and Ms Caitlin Tough (ACT Labor, Brindabella).
In Melbourne, attendees included Lord Mayor Nick Reece, Deputy Lord Mayor Roshena Campbell, and Councillors Owen Guest and Olivia Ball.
And in Sydney, we welcomed Councillor Sylvie Ellsmore.
We extend our sincere thanks to Arrotex Pharmaceuticals and the skilled nursing teams who delivered vaccinations on the day, and to CSL Seqirus for generously supplying the influenza vaccine Flucelvax. We also gratefully acknowledge the efforts of our volunteers, whose dedication and professionalism were instrumental to the smooth running of each event.
With seasonal influenza activity increasing, vaccination rates declining, and record-high case numbers already recorded in 2025, this initiative remains a vital part of our national public health response. We thank all who contributed to the success of this important community health initiative.
