Australia is in the grip of its worst flu season on record. The Immunisation Coalition is providing General Practitioners with up-to-date information and recommendations on how to treat influenza, including antiviral treatment. This information is distributed to General Practitioners via facsimile.
Influenza is a potentially fatal disease. In Australia influenza and its complications is estimated to cause between 1,500 and 3,500 deaths and more than 18,000 hospitalisations per year. General Practitioners have a vital role in prompting patients to consider the benefits of influenza vaccination and addressing concerns about efficacy and safety.
This campaign was made possible via a sponsorship from Roche.
